The following represent brief/broad descriptions. It is not intended, nor should it be construed, to represent a comprehensive and, /or exhaustive description of all duties/responsibilities and requisite skills associated with the position.
WOFL/Orlando – Production Tech – (Regular Part Time): Assist director with various aspects of production including video camera, audio console, character generator, video recorder and lighting board. College degree or equivalent work experience in film or television preferred. Basic understanding of television production and computers. Weekends and holidays required. This is a part time position scheduled 16 hours per week.
WOFL/Orlando – Producer: Produce and meet strategic goals for assigned newscasts. Create newscasts with impact by writing stories and teases creatively and effectively. Research and present compelling story ideas at daily editorial meetings. Strong creative writing skills and editorial judgment are a must. Working knowledge of newsroom computer systems, the Internet, graphic and production equipment, ENG & SNG remotes is desirable. College degree in an applicable discipline such as broadcast journalism. Prior experience in a television news department producing newscasts. Must work well under deadline pressure during breaking news.
WOFL/Orlando - Associate Producer – (Regular Full Time): Write stories for news programs. Select appropriate video and sound for stories. Assist anchors, reporters and producers in preparing stories for broadcast. Work with the assignment desk in gathering information. Produce newscasts as needed under management supervision. Strong creative writing skills and editorial judgment are a must. Working knowledge of newsroom computer systems, the Internet, graphic and production equipment, ENG & SNG remotes is desirable. Must work well under deadline pressure. College degree in an applicable discipline such as broadcast journalism or equivalent job experience is preferred.
WOFL/Orlando – Assignment/Planning Producer – (Regular Full Time): Plan ahead for next day story coverage. Work closely with executive producers, producers and reporters to ensure that stories are enterprised and accommodated in newscasts. Understand the logistics of the assignment desk and assist coordinating coverage, content and the logistics of newscasts. Understand the needs of a newscast through a producer’s eyes. Also will work with web site in developing stories, segments and projects to work in conjunction with newscasts. College degree in broadcast journalism or other related field. Previous assignment desk experience preferred. Working knowledge of newsroom computers and the Internet.
WOFL/Orlando – Anchor/Reporter – (Regular Full Time): Anchor newscasts as assigned. Enterprise and report news stories. Write creatively, clearly, accurately and quickly. Provide live coverage of breaking events. Take initiative and be a leader in the newsroom. A minimum of three years experience working as an anchor in a medium or large market preferred. Good news judgment and knowledge of fair and accurate journalism practices. Ability to tell stories, ask good probing questions in Q&A with reporters and ad-lib effectively. Strong writing skills and thorough knowledge of current events. Excellent people and communication skills; must be a team player. Working knowledge of newsroom computers.
WOFL/Orlando – Sports Reporter/Photographer: Generates, reports, produces, writes, shoots and edits video and audio for hard and feature-oriented stories for sportscasts and other sports-related programming. Operates ENG vehicles and equipment. Establishes story contacts with the major sport franchises and amateur leagues, including college, high school level athletic departments. Self-motivated, creative storyteller with strong photography and editing skills. Working knowledge of: P2 cameras and edit systems, lighting and sound equipment, and newsroom computer systems. Must have knowledge of professional, amateur and recreational sports. Ability to work flexible schedules depending on seasonal sports. At least 2 years experience in a television sports department preferred. Willingness and ability to travel for story assignments. Must have valid driver’s license and good driving record.
WOFL/WRBW – Broadcast Designer – (Regular Full Time): Conceptualize and produce news, sports, promotional and commercial electronic graphics using a variety of platforms and software, including MacIntosh, Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects. College degree in the graphics arts or college equivalent BAA or design degree. Must be a team player with strong communication skills. Ability to work flexible hours and under tight deadlines. Although experience in broadcast is preferred, an impressive multimedia or print portfolio displaying excellent design skills will be considered. Experience with SGI, NT or Mac based systems a plus.
WOFL/WRBW/WOGX – Promotion Producer – (Regular Full Time): Write and produce original promos, including daily topicals, station and news image spots, and network, sports and syndicated branding spots for FOX Triopoly in Central Florida. Must have a proven track record of producing conversational yet compelling promotional spots that break through the clutter and give viewers a reason to tune-in. Requires top-notch writing skills and a desire to win every day. Good understanding of how to sell news stories and station programming to target demographics. Must have the ability to execute distinct marketing and branding strategies for each station. Flexibility and ability to meet tight deadlines is key. Ability to work flexible hours and shifts, including weekends and holidays is required. A minimum of two years television promotion experience, a degree in communications or related field, a good understanding of graphics and visual effects along with proficiency with Microsoft Office, basic non-linear editing skills and AVSTAR news computer knowledge is preferred. AVID Adrenaline and After Effects experience is a plus.

Fox Television Stations Sales is seeking applicants for its Sales Training Program. The overall goal of the Training Program is to provide an internal pool of talent for future Account Executive positions within Fox Television Stations and Fox Stations Sales. Individuals must commit to a three-year program and must be geographically mobile. Assignments during and after completion of the program may be in any of the Fox Stations Sales offices or Stations located throughout the continental United States.
Responsibilities Include: Assumes responsibilities for the retention and application of knowledge imparted through the training sessions and supplemental development modules. To gain the knowledge and training required for the position of an Account Executive within the Fox organization. Assumes responsibility for the accuracy and consistency of work assigned and for its completion within the time schedules determined by the Program Trainer. Assumes responsibility for the understanding and retention of knowledge of all Company policies and procedures pertinent to this position and as an Employee of the Company.
Essential Qualifications: Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Formal educational background. Aggressive self-starter with excellent communication, computer and organizational skills. Two-three years prior related work experience. Must be geographically mobile within the continental United States. Must be able to commit to a three-year program and sign a Personal Services Agreement for up to three years. Internships
QUALIFICATIONS:
Current enrollment at a college or university in a four-year program.
Ability to a set schedule to meet the requirements of your college or university.
Proof of academic credit for internship (a letter confirming academic recognition must be submitted before starting the internship).
Applicants with junior or senior status preferred.

Candidates selected for internships will be notified at least two weeks prior to registration to allow for the registration process.
There are a limited number of internships available each semester. Applying early is encouraged.
Internships are available in the news, weather, production, finance, sales and research, promotions, marketing, programming and IS departments. Internships are non-paid and do not necessarily lead to employment with WOFL/WRBW.
